Good morning, Caffeinators☀️
We have lots of OpenAI news today! Let’s get into it.
Today’s Starting Sips:
🗳️ OpenAI’s Prep for the 2024 Election

👶 Child-Proofing AI

2024 Election. AI may bring an unmeasurable amount of chaos.
That is why OpenAI posted a 1000-word blog on how they will prevent misuse and misinformation. Their goal is to ensure the integrity of the election.
The Specifics:
Combatting Misuse: New policies and safeguards. You are “theoretically” unable to generate real humans.
Policy Updates: Refine ChatGPT usage rules to ban chatbots from speaking on behalf of any human being.
Violation Reporting: New feature for users to report GPT misuse.
Media Transparency: Enhance AI image authenticity verification for voter confidence.
Accurate Voting Info: Partner with the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) to provide reliable U.S. election information.
Why it is Important:
It is great to see the leaders of AI aren’t just busy making money, they also care about ethics. OpenAI is setting a standard for ethical AI use.
The result shows. I tried various prompt injection/hacking techniques and was unsuccessful in generating any image of former president Trump. (If you could please let me know how you did it!)
But! It will be interesting to see how other companies follow suit. The image above was crafted by Midjouney within 10 seconds.

Before, switching between GPTs required us to restart a conversation.
Now, OpenAI pushed out a “tagging” feature that lets you seamlessly swap between GPTs.
Key Features:
Efficient Access: This allows direct in-chat GPT engagement. Just type “@”, choose your GPT, and keep chatting!
Multi-GPT Incorporation: Users can now incorporate multiple GPTs in a single conversation, streamlining the workflow.
Under-the-Radar Launch: This feature has not been officially announced by OpenAI yet.
Exclusive Rollout: Only ChatGPT+ users have access atm.
Importance:
The “GPT Tagging” feature may seem like a minor improvement. I think it is a big step towards OpenAI’s grand vision: a single API that solves all your needs. This makes AI interactions much more fluid and versatile.
I’ll release a tutorial on GPT Tagging in the next issue. Stay on the edge of your seats!

Remember we used to say, “the internet is no safe space for kids?“ Now, it’s the same with AI.
The Details:
Teaming Up: OpenAI and Common Sense Media are on a mission to create safer AI spaces for young ones.
Kid-Friendly AI: They're picking out the good apples from the GPT Store that fit the kid-safe bill.
Learning Materials: It's all about teaching the grown-ups how to keep AI use smart and safe for the youngsters.
Under the Microscope: With regulators watching their every move, OpenAI's stepping up its game to show AI can be a force for good.
My Thoughts:
It'd be neat to see real-life stories of how these family-friendly AI tools are making a difference. Like, how is AI helping kids tackle homework without giving them all the answers, or how's it becoming a buddy that helps with understanding complex social emotions?
This real-world impact could really drive home why this partnership is a big deal.
